On paper, T-Mobile's new 5G home internet service looks promising, with fast speeds at a good price. But whether you can get it is hit or miss. Yesterday I installed my new 5G router. Here are a rundown of the issue in question. My new Router gets 250-300 download and around 20 upload and up to 25 upload. My old DSL (which is still active at my house is constantly 8 upload) Using wireless, my upload speed test is up to 25 mpbs. But in actual use, the uploads to youtube I need to do Team of Experts®. Seems my upload is in a good range but I'm assuming I'm being deprioritized during all hours except for when no one is really using T Mobile at all to the point that the internet is unusable. Currently I'm at 5/41. I don't really understand why upload would be so high if download is so low. Like others has said, it depends on your area. For me, I have three TV's that stream 4k every day. One of them does it for 16 hours a day. I work from home and use the it for my job. Its fine for me. I'm saving $60 a month over Comcast. You would get gig speed, but most people don't require that speed anyway. I get 500Mb down and 100Mb up. You can also do it yourself if you go into the modem or tower setting and see if the sim registered is the same one in your tower.
